Pines Elementary students Liam Kane and Gabriella Brassil were among 12 talented young artists recognized at a special reception at Smithtown Library last week. Liam and Gabriella were selected as winners of the library’s “Design a Bookmark” art contest, with their designs chosen from 160 entries submitted by young artists.

During the reception, the students learned that their winning artwork will be reproduced throughout the year and made available to visitors in the Children’s Department at Smithtown Library.
