Pines Pride Sign

Throughout the school year, the Pines Elementary Student Council worked diligently behind the scenes on a special project that would leave a lasting mark on the school community. Made up of students in grades 3–5, the group designed and created a new “Pines Pride” sign, now proudly displayed on the school fence.

Featuring both an eagle and a pine tree, the sign symbolizes the connection between the district mascot and the spirit of Pines Elementary. What makes the display even more impressive is the process behind it—each individual “cup” was carefully placed into the fence one by one, requiring patience, precision, teamwork, and close attention to detail.

The project became a true labor of love for the Student Council students, whose hard work and creativity resulted in a colorful and meaningful display of school pride for the entire community to enjoy.

The sign was made possible through the support and collaboration of Mr. Riccio, Mr. Priete, Mrs. DeRose, Ms. Scarito, and Principal Mr. Bullis, who worked alongside students to help bring their vision to life.

Mrs. DeRose and Ms. Scarito shared how proud they are of the Student Council’s leadership, creativity, and perseverance throughout the project. One thing is certain—the Student Council has truly demonstrated what it means to have Pines Pride!
