Pines Talent Show

This year’s school talent show, “The Most Magical School on Earth,” truly lived up to its name, bringing together creativity, community, and compassion for a meaningful cause. Centered around the theme of “sharing talents while caring for others,” the event showcased the incredible abilities of our students while raising funds to support an important organization.

All proceeds from ticket sales and raffles, totaling an impressive $3167, were donated to the Rachel Quinn Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to supporting underprivileged children across Long Island by providing school supplies and essential educational resources. It also honors Rachel’s legacy by recognizing students who demonstrate kindness, empathy, and compassion in their everyday lives.

The Disney-themed show transported the audience into a magical world from start to finish. A special behind-the-scenes film gave viewers a glimpse into the journey leading up to the big night, highlighting auditions, rehearsals, and even a creative sequence showing the cast “traveling” to Disney through special effects.

The stage itself was a masterpiece. A stunning Magic Kingdom backdrop, designed by art teacher Mrs. Catapano, set the scene, while additional set pieces were created by Mrs. Brady along with the Pines Elementary School parents. Their hard work helped bring the entire vision to life.

The event was made possible through the dedication of club advisors Danielle Brady, Erica DeMaria, and Lori Graebe, whose leadership guided students every step of the way. Teachers also joined in on the fun, volunteering their time to perform a memorable group act as Disney villains, giving students a chance to see them in a completely different and entertaining light.

To make the evening even more magical, special guests Minnie and Mickey Mouse made an appearance, delighting the audience and adding to the excitement.

Overall, the talent show was not only an unforgettable night of entertainment but also a powerful example of how our school community can come together to make a difference. Through their talents and teamwork, our students proved that a little magic can go a long way in helping others.
