To wrap up their first reading unit on biographies, fifth graders at Pines Elementary brought history to life through a creative and engaging Wax Museum. Each student selected an influential figure—from historical leaders and scientists to artists, athletes, and icons of pop culture—to research and showcase.
After completing their biography studies and creating a digital slide, students transformed into their chosen figure using costumes, props, and plenty of imagination. During the Wax Museum, they stood frozen in place like real wax figures until a visitor “pushed their button,” prompting them to share their figure’s birth date, accomplishments, and fun facts.
The event was a wonderful celebration of learning, and students’ dedication, creativity, and confidence shone brightly throughout the day.
