On Wednesday, October 29, fourth graders at Pines spent the day immersed in Native American culture through an engaging, hands-on learning experience. Students attended a museum presentation featuring tools, weapons, clothing, and animal furs, giving them a close-up look at daily life and craftsmanship.
Throughout the day, students took part in traditional games, listened to stories and music, and even tried their hand at dancing. A clay-pot workshop offered a meaningful opportunity to create something inspired by the culture they were studying.
Students also explored Native American government and learned about the roles of men, women, and children within their communities. This enriching assembly provided an inspiring and memorable introduction to their upcoming Native American unit.
