Pines Elementary kindergarten students celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day in September—a fun tradition that honors John Chapman, the American pioneer better known as Johnny Appleseed, who shared apple seeds and stories across the country in the early 1800s.
Students enjoyed a day filled with apple-themed activities, including cutting, coloring, and writing projects, all while proudly wearing giant paper apples on their heads. Snack time, of course, featured plenty of delicious apples! It was a sweet and memorable way to learn about kindness, nature, and one of America’s most legendary folk heroes.
