The Pines Advanced Chorus had the honor of visiting the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook. The students were thrilled to have the opportunity to perform for the veterans, bringing joy and gratitude through the power of music.
The chorus presented a diverse repertoire that included selections from their regular performances, popular songs and heartfelt patriotic tunes. One of the highlights of the visit was the “Armed Forces Medley”, during which several veterans sang along or cheered when the anthem of their branch was played. Another standout moment came during “God Bless America”, when a veteran joined in with the students, ending the song with a stunning high note sung in harmony.
The performance was an emotional and uplifting experience for both the veterans and the chorus members.
