Members of the Hauppauge Middle School National Junior Honor Society and Student Council marked the conclusion of a successful school year with a memorable canoe trip along the Peconic River.
The student leaders paddled nearly five miles down the scenic waterway, enjoying beautiful weather, teamwork, and a shared sense of adventure. Throughout the journey, students worked together to navigate the river while taking in the natural beauty of their surroundings.
Midway through the trip, the group stopped along the riverbank to enjoy pizza and spend time together outside the classroom. The break provided an opportunity for students to relax, recharge, and strengthen the friendships they have built through their involvement in leadership and service activities throughout the year.
The day was filled with laughter, cooperation, and memorable experiences, reflecting the strong sense of community that exists among these dedicated student leaders. The outing also served as a well-deserved celebration of the hard work, commitment, and positive contributions members of the National Junior Honor Society and Student Council have made to the school community during the year.
The canoe trip provided the perfect ending to a successful year, creating lasting memories while recognizing students for their leadership, service, and dedication to making Hauppauge Middle School a better place for all.
