Hauppauge Middle School students recently showcased their creativity and technical skills through a special video project featuring Dr. Murphy, produced entirely by members of the Middle School Video Production Club.
From start to finish, the project was truly student-driven. Club members took the lead on every aspect of production, including scriptwriting, filming, conducting the on-camera interview, and editing the final video. Their hard work and collaboration resulted in a polished and engaging feature that highlights both their talents and their ability to work as a professional production team.
As part of their “Eagle’s Nest News” segment, students asked Dr. Murphy a variety of thoughtful questions, including what inspired him to become a superintendent, what his role entails, and the positions he held prior to stepping into the role. Perhaps most meaningful for students, they asked what advice he would give to his middle school self—sharing insight that today’s students can relate to and learn from.
The completed interview was shared with middle school students during the Wednesday, March 25 advisory, giving the entire school community an opportunity to view and appreciate the students’ efforts.
Be sure to watch the full interview below to hear his responses and see their impressive work in action.
