High school and middle school teachers stepped up to the December “Teaching with Tech” Challenge focused on a key productivity skill: Teacher Use of AI. The Digital Learning Department tasked teachers to use a digital AI tool to modify at least two separate lessons or activities during the month of December. Teachers used tools such as Brisk, Wayground, NotebookLM and Google Gemini to complete this challenge.
Once they implemented their lessons, teachers were asked to reflect on the process. Teachers were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to create something and worked collaboratively with the Digital Learning Department to ensure they were using it ethically and responsibly. Teachers reflected about how easy it was to differentiate assignments to meet the varying needs of their students. It was also noted how much they learned about prompt engineering throughout this month’s challenge, seeing how varying a prompt can totally change the output from the AI.
For completing this month’s challenge, teachers were awarded a token made by our High School Librarian, Jen Shapiro, to show off their accomplishments!
