This Eagle Essentials lesson focused on building healthy relationships by encouraging students to reflect on the qualities they value in their friends—and, just as importantly, the positive traits they can strengthen within themselves.
As part of the unit, students explored the power of personal values and affirmations, learning how to “swap the script” by replacing negative self-talk with positive, empowering thoughts. To bring these ideas to life, each student created a custom locker magnet highlighting their top core qualities or a personal affirmation. Students could hand-draw their designs or use Canva to create them digitally.
More than simple decorations, these magnets now serve as daily reminders inside students’ lockers of their strengths, confidence, and all they have to offer.
