Eagles Essentials Calm

In Eagle Essentials, sixth graders took part in a hands-on project designed to help them manage stress and build resilience. The life skill focus for the week was Emotional Regulation, and students explored this theme through creativity and collaboration.

Working with the Library Media Specialist, students researched the science and benefits behind various calming and fidget tools. They then put their learning into practice by designing their own unique stress-relief devices. Throughout the week, they tested sample tools provided by the Technology Education teacher, gaining inspiration and insight into how these tools work.

At home, students created prototypes using everyday materials, showcasing remarkable inventiveness. After a class-wide vote, the top three designs were selected for 3D printing—with help from the Technology Education teacher—bringing their imaginative ideas to life!
