Chamber Choir Visit to 8th Grade Choir

Last Wednesday, September 17, the Hauppauge High School Chamber Choir, led by Ms. Leanne Contino, visited our 8th grade chorus, led by Ms. Rose Recce, during lunch. The visit was full of music and a great opportunity for our younger singers to learn from high school students.

The Chamber Choir performed some of their songs, sharing their harmonies with the 8th graders. They also taught the students a small section of one of their pieces. The 8th graders practiced in small groups and then came together to sing in one big circle, creating a beautiful shared sound.

The visit was not only a fun learning experience but also a chance for the younger singers to connect with the high school students. For many 8th graders, singing with the Chamber Choir gave a sneak peek of what high school music is like and encouraged them to keep singing as they move up.

Ms. Recce said, “This was a meaningful moment, inspiring our younger singers to continue singing as they move to high school. We look forward to having the Chamber Choir visit again later this year!”
