A scene of excitement unfolded today at Hauppauge Middle School as a blue ribbon was cut, officially opening the school's brand-new multi-purpose courts.
The ceremony commenced in the school gym before moving outdoors to the newly paved courts. Those in attendance included Middle School Principal Mrs. O’Connor, Assistant Principals Ms. Pagliari and Mr. Trentowski, alongside students. They were joined by Board of Education President Mr. Barshay, Superintendent Dr. Murphy, Assistant Superintendents Ms. Siena and Dr. McCarthy and Director Mr. Butler.
This particular project, part of the 2023 Bond Projects, enhances the middle school's previous athletic infrastructure. It features dedicated paving for basketball, volleyball, and handball courts, complemented by new fencing and sidewalks, ensuring a safe and modern environment for sports and recreation.
Following the formal unveiling, students and staff eagerly seized the opportunity to demonstrate their athletic prowess, showcasing their skills on the impressive new courts.
