Hauppauge High School Class of 2021 Alumna Alexeus Ruland of Long Island has been crowned International Woman of Service Miss 2026, earning the prestigious title during the International & American Women of Service Pageants held July 15–19 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The title recognizes more than achievement in competition. It honors a commitment to volunteerism, leadership, philanthropy, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Ruland earned the organization’s highest International Woman of Service Miss title after demonstrating excellence in interview, evening gown, high fashion modeling, optional competitions, and community service. Her dedication to service has been a consistent part of her life, with volunteer work through organizations including the Smithtown Children’s Foundation Hauppauge Chapter, Girl Scouts, America’s VetDogs, Cooking for Long Island Veterans, and numerous local service initiatives.
Through her volunteer efforts, Ruland has supported families in need, mentored youth, promoted mental health awareness, and encouraged others to find ways to make a positive difference in their communities.
“This title represents so much more than a crown,” Ruland said. “It is a reminder that service has the power to change lives. I am incredibly honored to represent this organization and look forward to using this platform to encourage others to find ways to serve their own communities.”
As International Woman of Service Miss 2026, Ruland will spend the coming year serving as an ambassador for the organization, promoting volunteerism, leadership, education, and community service through appearances, outreach initiatives, and charitable projects across the United States.
Her commitment to helping others also extends to her professional and academic pursuits. Ruland earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hofstra University, with minors in Anthropology and Neuroscience, and will return to Hofstra this fall to pursue a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.
She currently works as a Home Health Care professional with Northwell Health, and her continued education will further support her long-term goal of combining her passion for horses with therapeutic care. Through equine-assisted therapy, Ruland hopes to help individuals improve their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
From her continued education and work in healthcare to her dedication to volunteerism and community service, Ruland is carrying her commitment to helping others into every part of her journey. Hauppauge Public Schools is proud to celebrate this accomplishment and the meaningful work Alexeus continues to do in communities across Long Island and beyond.
