Eagle Watch Best Opening Segment, BASH Awards

Broadcasting students from Hauppauge High School recently attended the 9th Annual Broadcast Alliance for Senior High (BASH) Awards at Hofstra University, where high school media programs from across Long Island and New York City gathered to celebrate student achievement in broadcasting, journalism, and digital storytelling.

Under the guidance of Mr. Schaeffler, the Hauppauge Broadcasting team earned an impressive first-place award for Best Opening Segment, recognizing the creativity, technical skill, and collaboration that went into producing this year’s show opening. The achievement reflects the continued success of Hauppauge High School’s television production program and the dedication of the students involved in creating high-quality media productions in a highly competitive field.

In addition to the awards ceremony, students participated in breakout sessions led by industry professionals, Hofstra faculty members, and fellow student broadcasters from participating schools. The event also provided students with the opportunity to network with more than 800 peers who share an interest in the rapidly growing field of broadcast journalism and digital media.

Mr. Schaeffler also contributed to the conference by co-leading a professional breakout session for educators, where experienced broadcasting teachers shared best practices and strategies for organizing and managing scholastic broadcasting programs.

Congratulations to Mr. Schaeffler and the entire Hauppauge Broadcasting team on this outstanding accomplishment and for continuing to represent Hauppauge with excellence and creativity.
