Music in the Parks

Hauppauge High School’s student musicians continue to build on the district’s strong music tradition, earning top honors at both the NYSSMA Majors Festival Adjudication and the Music in the Parks Festival this spring.

Hauppauge’s advanced High School ensembles traveled to Middletown, New Jersey on Saturday, May 2 to participate in the Music in the Parks Festival, where ensembles were adjudicated by college professors on their festival repertoire.

The Chamber Choir, Chamber Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble each earned first place in their respective divisions. In addition, the Chamber Choir was recognized as the Overall Choir across all choir divisions, an impressive honor among participating schools from Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Students also had the opportunity to hear performances from other competing ensembles, making the festival both a rewarding and educational experience.

Congratulations to all of Hauppauge’s student musicians and music educators on an outstanding spring season filled with achievement, dedication, and musical excellence.
