Spain Trip

From April 2 to April 9, 2026, a group of 13 high school students embarked on an unforgettable eight-day cultural immersion trip through Spain with EF Tours. Traveling to Barcelona and Madrid, students went beyond sightseeing to experience the country’s rich history, art, and vibrant daily life.

The trip began in Barcelona, where students visited iconic landmarks such as La Sagrada Família and Park Güell. A highlight of their time there was an excursion to Montserrat, where they traveled into the mountains to visit the monastery, see the Black Madonna, and take in breathtaking views from the cliffs. Throughout their stay, students also enjoyed exploring local marketplaces, experiencing the energy of daily life while browsing fresh foods and interacting with the local culture.

On their way to the capital, the group stopped in Zaragoza to visit the Basílica del Pilar before continuing on to Madrid. There, students toured the Royal Palace, walked through Plaza Mayor, and visited the renowned Prado Museum to view some of the world’s most celebrated works of art. Time spent in Madrid’s bustling markets offered another opportunity to observe how locals shop and dine.

On their final day in Madrid, students visited a local grocery store to select their own lunch and snacks before enjoying a picnic in Retiro Park, the city’s beautiful central park. The trip concluded with a visit to Toledo, a historic medieval city known for its narrow stone streets and rich cultural heritage. As they explored the cathedral and ancient fortress walls, students learned how diverse cultures shaped the city over centuries.

From trying new foods to navigating unfamiliar cities, these 13 students gained independence, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world—making this journey a truly memorable and meaningful experience.
