Sports Business Day @ UBS

Students enrolled in our High School's College Sports and Entertainment Marketing classes recently had the exciting opportunity to step outside the classroom and into the professional sports world with a field trip to UBS Arena, the home of the New York Islanders. The visit provided a behind-the-scenes look at one of the NHL’s premier venues while offering valuable insight into careers in the sports marketing industry.

During the tour, students explored various areas of the state-of-the-art facility, including premium seating, fan engagement zones, and operational spaces that bring game days to life. The experience allowed them to see firsthand how marketing strategies are implemented to enhance the fan experience and build brand loyalty.

A highlight of the trip was the opportunity to hear directly from professionals working within the Islanders organization. Industry experts shared their career journeys, discussed the day-to-day responsibilities of their roles, and offered advice on breaking into the competitive field of sports marketing. Students gained a deeper understanding of areas such as promotions, sponsorships, digital media, and event management.

This immersive experience connected classroom concepts to real-world applications, reinforcing the importance of networking, adaptability, and creativity in the sports marketing field. The trip to UBS Arena not only inspired students but also provided a clearer vision of the many career paths available within the sports industry.
