Hauppauge-Smithtown Boys Varsity Swim

The Hauppauge-Smithtown boys varsity swim team competed in the New York State Public High School Swimming & Diving Championships at Ithaca College a couple of weekends ago, delivering an outstanding performance on the state stage.

The Hauppauge-Smithtown 200 Medley Relay team—Hauppauge’s Noah Hutzler and Smithtown’s Brennan Morelli, Chris Sweeney, and Tyler Gallub—finished 2nd place with a time of 1:33.64. The performance earned the team All-American Consideration honors and marked their fastest time in the event this season.

The team also delivered a remarkable performance in the 200 Freestyle Relay, where Hutzler, Sweeney, Morelli, and Gallub again captured 2nd place with a time of 1:23.34. The time ranks as the second-fastest in New York State history, while also setting new team and Suffolk County records and earning Automatic All-American honors.

Overall, the Hauppauge-Smithtown team finished the meet 2nd in New York State, marking the best finish ever for a boys team at the state championship in program history.
