The Hauppauge Varsity Cheer team received a special send-off as they began their journey to the NYSPHSAA Cheerleading State Championships in Binghamton. A crowd of classmates gathered to wish the team well, while members of the local fire department provided an escort as the athletes set off for the competition.
The excitement surrounding the team was well deserved. Competing against nine teams from across New York State, the Hauppauge cheerleaders delivered a strong performance in the preliminary round, executing a standout routine that advanced them to the finals.
In the final round, the top five teams took the mat once again, and Hauppauge delivered another impressive performance, ultimately earning third place in New York State.
The finish marks a historic accomplishment for the team and caps off an outstanding season defined by hard work, dedication, and determination. Hauppauge High School congratulates the athletes and coaching staff on their incredible achievement and for representing the school community with pride at the state level.
