Hauppauge High School is proud to celebrate its Fall 2025 Scholar-Athlete teams, recognized by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) for outstanding academic achievement. To qualify, at least 75% of each team’s roster earned an academic average of 90 or above during the marking period.
This fall, the following teams earned Scholar-Athlete distinction:
Boys Cross Country
Boys Golf
Boys Soccer
Boys Volleyball
Game Day Cheerleading
Girls Cross Country
Girls Soccer
Girls Swimming/Diving
Girls Tennis
Girls Volleyball
Gymnastics
In total, 4,148 teams statewide earned Scholar-Athlete recognition this fall, with 53,814 individual student-athletes achieving the distinction. Each qualifying team receives a Scholar-Athlete certificate, and individual students are awarded pins to honor their accomplishments.
“The Scholar-Athlete program remains one of the most meaningful recognitions we provide,” said Dr. Robert Zayas, NYSPHSAA Executive Director. “Balancing rigorous academics with athletic commitments demonstrates remarkable dedication and discipline.”
This program, now in its 33rd year, highlights the importance of excellence in both academics and athletics.
