Model Congress Trip to DC

Members of the Hauppauge Model Congress Club recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in the prestigious Princeton Model Congress. At this immersive program, students engaged in authentic legislative simulations, drafted and debated policy proposals, and collaborated with peers from across the country. This hands-on experience strengthened their public speaking, research, and leadership skills while deepening their understanding of civil discourse and the federal legislative process.

Beyond the legislative sessions, Hauppauge students explored the nation’s capital, touring the U.S. Capitol, the National Holocaust Museum, and the National Museum of African American History. They visited iconic national monuments and even took part in a conversation with Congresswoman Terry Sewell, gaining firsthand insight into public service and governance.

Our students represented Hauppauge with professionalism, enthusiasm, and curiosity, making the most of every opportunity. They are grateful to all who made this remarkable trip possible!
