Hauppauge High School presented its fall production of The Skin of Our Teeth on November 7 and 8, delighting audiences with a performance full of creativity, humor, and heart. Under the direction of Mr. Jordan Hue, our students brought Thornton Wilder’s imaginative and thought-provoking play to vibrant life.
Mr. Hue shared his pride in the cast and crew, noting, “The cast, crew, and creative team put a lot of work into the show, dedicating themselves to bringing this timeless and deeply strange, funny, and important play to vibrant life.”
The production follows the Antrobus family as they face a series of cataclysmic challenges—from natural disasters to societal upheavals—serving as an allegory of humanity’s resilience and hope throughout history. Through their trials, the Antrobuses demonstrate determination, resourcefulness, and the enduring spirit that has allowed humanity to persevere through adversity.
Hauppauge’s talented student performers captivated audiences with their dynamic portrayals, while the technical crew’s lighting, sound, set design, and costumes created a visually stunning and immersive experience. Every element showcased the dedication, creativity, and teamwork of our students across multiple theatre arts disciplines, highlighting the department’s ongoing commitment to offering rich artistic experiences for both participants and the community.
