On Thursday, October 16, Hauppauge High School welcomed students and families to the College and Career Fair, presented by the Western Suffolk Counselors’ Association (WSCA). This free event provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to explore future pathways and gain insight into the college admissions process.
More than 100 college and career representatives were on hand to answer questions, share materials, and offer guidance about programs, applications, and opportunities. Students had the chance to connect directly with admissions counselors, learn tips for strengthening their applications, and discover schools that matched their goals and interests.
A highlight of the evening was the “Ask the Expert” panel, featuring representatives from Colgate University, George Washington University, Stony Brook University, and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Guests were invited to submit questions ahead of time, allowing panelists to address key topics such as essay writing, test-optional policies, and what colleges are really looking for in applicants.
The event saw an excellent turnout, with many students and families taking advantage of the opportunity to make meaningful connections and gather firsthand insights about life after high school.
The College and Career Fair continues to be a valuable resource in helping our students plan for the future—with confidence, curiosity, and a sense of possibility.
