The Varsity Girls Cross Country team captured the League title this season with an undefeated 5-0 record! The team has been led all season by senior Emma Tjersland and sophomore Ava Lingen, with strong performances from teammates Julie Stopanio, Julianna Heck, Katherine DiTuro, Sofia Mariani, Grace Lazauskas, Hannah Lingen, Vivi O’Brien, Sophia Nehr, and Ella Murphy.
At the prestigious Manhattan University Invitational, the freshmen team—comprised mostly of 8th graders—earned a second-place trophy. The team included Vivi O’Brien, Sophia Nehr, Ella Muilenburg, Hannah Lingen, Addie O’Brien, and Valentina Rosero.
The Varsity team has consistently placed high in invitational meets and has been ranked as high as #7 in New York State in their class. With the regular season complete, the Eagles are looking forward to continuing their success in the postseason. Best of luck to the team!
