Several Hauppauge High School teachers recently participated in a professional development workshop focused on integrating NotebookLM into their classrooms. The session highlighted NotebookLM as a powerful platform for fostering active learning and critical thinking, giving teachers the tools to guide students in building their own digital notebooks while emphasizing the important skill of vetting sources to ensure academic integrity.
During the workshop, educators explored NotebookLM’s Studio feature, discovering how students can transform their notes and research into dynamic study materials, including podcasts and videos. The training equipped teachers with strategies to help students not only organize information, but also synthesize and share their learning creatively.
The enthusiasm for NotebookLM has extended beyond the high school. At the Middle School, interest was so high that three full training days were scheduled to accommodate the demand—and even then, more sessions are needed to meet the continued interest of our educators.
