Students from Hauppauge High School’s Fine and Performing Arts program attended the annual Teeny Awards ceremony at Brentwood High School. Hosted by the Islip Arts Council, the event celebrates excellence in student theatre and musical theatre performance across the region.
Several Hauppauge students were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the performing arts. Honorees Matthew Barshay, Aaron Delgado, Trinity Garcia and Matthew Kunkel received accolades for their contributions to the Hauppauge Theatre Department.
Special recognition went to Alexa Oliveto and Jacob Solomon, who were honored with Director’s Choice Awards for their work in “Mamma Mia!” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
The evening’s major awards included wins for Julia Cristiano and Emilia DeLuca, who each received the Teeny Award for Best Supporting Actress for their performances in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Mamma Mia!”, respectively.
Capping off the evening, senior Alexa Oliveto was named one of the event’s top scholarship recipients during the closing ceremony.
