Math Honor Society @ FB

On Wednesday, October 22, members of the Hauppauge High School Math Honor Society visited Forest Brook Elementary School to lead a fun and challenging math activity with the fifth-grade Math Enrichment students.

The high school students introduced the younger mathematicians to a game called Blocko—a hands-on activity that explores concepts of probability. As the rounds progressed, the fifth graders quickly demonstrated their sharp thinking, adjusting their strategies and discussing ways to improve their chances of success. Their lively table conversations showed just how deeply they understood the math behind the game!

The event was a wonderful collaboration between students of all ages and a great example of learning through play. It was coordinated by Forest Brook teacher Christina Floegel and High School Math Honor Society Advisor Kathleen Maiorini.
