At the end of May, the Bretton Woods community gathered for its second annual Community Night, an evening filled with laughter, connection, food, and friendly competition. Designed to bring families and staff together, the event was a tremendous success and a celebration of the strong sense of community that defines Bretton Woods.
The evening reflected a core belief shared by the school community: children thrive when supported by a caring network of parents, educators, and community members working together. At Bretton Woods, this partnership is at the heart of everything they do. By fostering collaboration between home and school, the community creates an environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally while developing positive relationships, a love of learning, and a commitment to making a difference in the world around them.
Community Night provided the perfect opportunity to strengthen those connections. Families enjoyed delicious food, engaging activities for children, and plenty of opportunities to spend time together outside the classroom setting. One of the highlights of the evening was the spirited Parents vs. Staff Field Day competition, which brought out plenty of enthusiasm and laughter from participants and spectators alike.
Adding to the fun were the “Go Big or Go Smalley” events, named in honor of Bretton Woods’ new principal, Dr. Christopher Smalley. The activities drew large crowds and showcased the energy and excitement that filled the evening.
Beyond the fun and festivities, the event also supported a meaningful cause. All net proceeds were donated to the Bretton Woods PTA and the Bretton Woods Care and Share Program, ensuring that funds raised will directly benefit students and families within the school community.
Bretton Woods extends its sincere appreciation to the dedicated PTA, volunteers, staff members, and families whose support made Community Night possible. The event served as a powerful reminder of the strength, spirit, and generosity that make Bretton Woods such a special place. Thanks to everyone who helped make this year's Community Night a memorable celebration of community and connection.
