Earth Day, celebrated every year on April 22, is a special day when people around the world come together to show love for our planet by recycling, planting trees, saving energy, and finding fun ways to take care of the Earth we all share.
In recognition of the day, Ms. Woodworth’s 4th grade class at Pines Elementary School celebrated by creating posters featuring thoughtful messages about caring for the environment.
In addition, an Earth Day Poster Contest was held for all fifth-grade students. This year’s winner is Isla Cavaliere from Bretton Woods Elementary School. Her winning poster will be shared with the school community, and she will receive a $100 prize sponsored by Long Island Solar Project, LLC.
