Bretton Woods PARP Month

Throughout the month of March, Bretton Woods Elementary students enthusiastically participated in this year’s PARP (Pick a Reading Partner) initiative, building strong reading habits and celebrating their progress along the way.

Each Friday, students submitted their reading logs, earning stickers while contributing to their class’s total reading minutes. Excitement grew week by week as classes competed to log the most minutes at each grade level, with fun incentives and prizes adding to the momentum.

Students also showed their school spirit through themed Spirit Days, which included wearing flannel, rocking crazy hair, bringing in a favorite stuffed animal, sporting a shirt with words to read, and dressing as their favorite book characters.

In addition, from March 13th through March 17th, students were invited to donate up to five books from their home libraries to the school’s “Build Your Own Library” collection. These donated books were then made available for other students to select and keep, helping to expand access to reading materials at home. Participation in the donation drive was completely optional, and all students had the opportunity to choose books and begin building their own personal libraries.

The PARP program once again proved to be a successful and engaging way to promote a love of reading among Bretton Woods students, bringing the school community together around a shared goal of literacy, growth, and achievement.
