Before our winter break, Mrs. Kennedy’s third grade class at Bretton Woods enjoyed reading Leni the Pug and the Comet Christmas Caper by author Keith Fiore. The experience became even more memorable when the author himself visited the school to meet his enthusiastic readers in Class 3-1.
During his visit, Mr. Fiore read the final chapter of the book aloud and spoke with students about the writing and publishing process. He also shared fun behind-the-scenes details about how the story came to life, giving students a deeper appreciation for the journey from idea to finished book.
The visit was especially meaningful because Keith Fiore is Mrs. Kennedy’s brother, adding a personal and exciting connection to the experience. The author’s time with the class made the story come alive and left students inspired, engaged, and eager to explore their own creativity through reading and writing.
