Six dedicated members of the Bretton Woods Competitive Running Club — Thanusha Mahesh, Daniela Tarazi, Isla Cavaliere, Ryan Bargfrede, Luke Jacobs, and Daniella Pinzon — proudly represented Hauppauge at the Santa’s Toy Trot 5K in Patchogue on Sunday, December 7.
Guided by advisors Mrs. Weeks and Mrs. Dungate, these young athletes trained steadily since October. Throughout the season, they learned to pace themselves through run/walk intervals, played energizing games to build speed, completed endurance-boosting laps, and practiced strength and balance drills to improve their form.
On race day, they bundled up, stepped into the crisp morning air, and gave it their all. Their determination, teamwork, and enthusiasm were evident from start to finish.
