On Veterans Day, more than 30 Hauppauge staff members—and many of their children—volunteered their time at Long Island Cares as part of the organization’s Gather and Give Holiday Campaign. Over the course of three hours, our volunteers packed more than 750 meal boxes, each one providing a full family-of-four dinner (minus the turkey, which will be added on delivery day).
This meaningful day of service was a powerful reminder of Hauppauge’s deep commitment to community. As one longtime staff member shared, “This was another example of how we are actively involved in our community and the greater good. My hope is that this outpouring of compassion isn’t a ‘one and done’ event—but something we can continue monthly, because hunger doesn’t disappear after the holidays.”
