BW Halloween Math Contest

Bretton Woods students celebrated Halloween with a fun and festive math challenge hosted by Miss Capone and Mrs. Driscoll. The annual Halloween Math Contest combined spooky fun with sharp problem-solving, as students put their estimation skills to the test by guessing the weight of a giant pumpkin and the number of candy corns in a mysterious jar.

The competition brought excitement and friendly rivalry to the halls, with students eagerly submitting their best guesses.

Pumpkin Guess Winner:

Congratulations to Samantha Garcia from Miss Gonzalez and Miss Bizzaro’s class! The pumpkin’s actual weight was 24.5 pounds, and Samantha’s remarkably close guess of 24.2 pounds earned her the top spot!

Candy Corn Count Winner:

A big round of applause to Ben Flynn from Mrs. Cardella’s class! With 405 candy corns in the jar, Ben’s guess of 404 was just one off—an impressive estimation!

The Bretton Woods Math Center is proud to recognize both Samantha and Ben for their sharp thinking and accuracy. A special thank-you goes out to all the students who joined in this year’s challenge and made learning math a little sweeter.
