This October, Hauppauge students focused on an essential ingredient of the Choose Love Movement — courage.
Courage is the ability to take action and make sound decisions even when faced with fear, uncertainty, or adversity. It doesn’t mean being fearless — rather, it’s about doing what’s right, even when it’s difficult or unpopular.
Throughout the month, students explored how courage helps us overcome obstacles, stay focused on our goals, and persevere through challenges. It empowers us to move forward with confidence and resilience.
To kick off the month’s theme, the district celebrated its first Choose Love Day, introducing students to the concept of courage in a meaningful and memorable way. A special video featuring students from across grade levels helped spark thoughtful discussions and reflection on what courage looks like in everyday life — both inside and outside the classroom.
