Library Special Donation

On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Bretton Woods math teacher Christine Capone donated a signed copy of The Boy Who Wore Blue by author Stacy Chapin to the Bretton Woods Library.

Miss Capone, who also serves as a crime victims’ rights advocate, had the honor of meeting Stacy Chapin on September 6 during a national crime victims’ rights convention.

Chapin is a devoted mother, educator, business owner, and victims’ rights advocate whose life and work reflect her deep love for family and community. She is the proud mother of triplets — Ethan, Maizie, and Hunter, born in 2002.

In 2022, while attending the University of Idaho with his siblings, Ethan’s life was tragically cut short in a case that drew national attention. In his memory, Chapin founded the Ethan’s Smile Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to help others pursue their dreams — honoring Ethan’s joyful spirit, kindness, and love of life.

Chapin later wrote The Boy Who Wore Blue, a heartfelt story inspired by Ethan’s childhood and the special bond he shared with his siblings. Through its colorful illustrations and touching narrative, the book celebrates Ethan’s life and the memories that continue to inspire so many.

Bretton Woods is honored to add this meaningful book to its library collection, where students and staff can read and reflect on its message of love, resilience, and hope.
