Throughout the week of October 13, Bretton Woods students laced up their sneakers and hit the field for the school’s annual Straw Walk, a favorite tradition organized by the Physical Education staff to promote movement, wellness, and family participation.
During each P.E. class, students walked, jogged, or ran laps, earning one straw for every quarter mile completed. The goal? To keep moving for the entire class and collect as many straws as possible! At the end of the week, totals were tallied to see which class went the distance.
Adding to the excitement, family members were invited to join their children during their scheduled P.E. time, proving that fitness truly is for all ages. Parents and guardians signed in at the front of the building and then headed to the gym and fields to walk alongside their students, modeling the importance of staying active and healthy together.
The Straw Walk not only encourages physical fitness but also builds a sense of community and teamwork. A big thank-you to the Bretton Woods Physical Education team for organizing this energetic, heart-healthy event that brought students, staff, and families together in motion!
