On Friday, October 23, Hauppauge High School welcomed representatives from Northwell Health for Health Career Day, giving students an opportunity to explore a wide range of career paths in healthcare and learn about the many opportunities available within the organization.
Presented through Northwell Community Scholars, the event connected students directly with healthcare professionals who shared their knowledge, experiences and insights into their respective fields. Representatives from medicine, laboratory sciences, human resources, social work and medical translation met with students during table presentations in the gym, answering questions and helping them learn more about potential career paths.
In addition to a career fair held in the gym, students could attend presentations focused on becoming a cardiac surgeon, exploring careers in laboratory sciences, pursuing social work and working in human resources. These sessions offered valuable perspectives on the education, skills and experiences needed to enter these professions.
Beyond exploring career options, the event encouraged students to consider how their future work could make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of their communities.
Hauppauge High School thanks Northwell Health and Northwell Community Scholars for providing this valuable learning experience and helping students broaden their horizons as they consider the many possibilities ahead.
