Pines Students Take Lunch Outdoors

Pines Elementary School is making the most of its outdoor courtyard this school year, giving students a welcoming space to learn, read, eat, and enjoy some fresh air throughout the day.

Thanks to a generous donation of four new outdoor tables from the Pines PTA, students now have a dedicated place to enjoy lunch outside. Surrounded by plants, trees, shrubs, and the courtyard’s resident turtles, the space offers a refreshing change of scenery in the middle of the school day.

The new seating is also providing opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. Teachers are using the courtyard for outdoor lessons, quiet reading time, and small-group activities, giving students a chance to learn in a different setting.

Whether they are enjoying lunch with friends, settling in with a good book, or taking part in a lesson, students are finding new ways to make the courtyard part of their school day.

A special thank you to the Pines PTA for helping transform this outdoor space into an active and enjoyable extension of the Pines learning environment!
