Eighth Grade Artists Explore Technique and Inspiration

Eighth grade students at Hauppauge Middle School are exploring different approaches to creating art through a variety of hands-on projects.

In Mrs. Treglia’s 8th grade Immersive Art class, students are developing their drawing and shading techniques as they work with three-dimensional shapes. Through careful observation and shading, students are learning how to create the appearance of depth and dimension in their drawings.

In Ms. Federico’s 8th grade art class, students are taking inspiration from the album covers of their favorite artists. Using these covers as a starting point, students are recreating or reimagining selected elements while making creative choices of their own.

Together, these projects give students opportunities to build their artistic skills while experimenting with different techniques and sources of inspiration.
