Pines Elementary kindergarten students celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day on September 26 with a day filled with apples, creativity and plenty of fun.
The annual tradition introduces students to the story of John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, while giving them the opportunity to enjoy a variety of apple-themed activities. Students cut, colored and wrote as they explored the day's theme, and even created giant paper apples to wear on their heads.
Of course, no Johnny Appleseed Day would be complete without a taste of the real thing! Students enjoyed a delicious apple snack while celebrating together.
From classroom activities to a sweet snack, the day gave our youngest Eagles a fun way to learn, create and celebrate a beloved American folk tradition.
