Hauppauge Middle School students keep calm and finish strong with Stress Management Fair

On June 11, Hauppauge Middle School held a Stress Management Fair in the school’s library, offering students a variety of interactive activities and resources aimed at promoting mental wellness and helping them manage end-of-year stress.

The fair featured several stations, each designed to teach students practical techniques for stress relief. Highlights included creating mindful glitter jars with Ms. Ligner, and a stress relief station hosted by Library Media Specialist Ms. McParland, where students learned refocusing techniques and how to use fidget objects to help refocus.

Students also had the opportunity to connect one-on-one with school counselors Ms. Lynch and Ms. Pesqueira at the “Ask an Expert” station, where they could discuss anything they may be having an issue with. School Psychologist Dr. Arias held conversations with students on how to best prepare for finals, offering helpful study tips and encouragement.

Additional activities included yoga sessions led by Ms. Pacileo and a calming visit with Ms. Olivero’s dog, Sully. The event also featured a raffle, giving students a chance to win fun prizes.
