Hauppauge Middle School honors student leaders with LICAB Community Leadership Awards

On June 5, Hauppauge Middle School hosted the second annual end-of-year ceremony for the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying Community Leadership of the Month Awards, an event dedicated to recognizing remarkable young leaders within the middle school.

Commissioned by the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying, the awards honor students whose positive actions, character and spirit help to create a more compassionate and inclusive environment for all. These students are recognized for consistently doing the right thing and are nominated by the school’s staff throughout the year.

Before receiving their awards, each honoree was introduced by their guidance counselor who shared remarks about each student’s contributions and leadership qualities.

This year, the program was sponsored by Contract Pharmacal Corp, with Dr. Jeff Reingold, Chief Operating Officer, and Justina Volpe, Human Resources Manager, in attendance to support and celebrate the students. In addition to certificates of recognition, each student was awarded a scholarship to honor their achievements.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients: Avril Castellanos, Holden Eckstrum, Alexa Grandstaff, Mia Green, Maxwell Kwakye, Gianna Lorusso, Pranav Ramkumar and Ella O’Shea!
