Pines’ Student Council hosted a Pines sticker fundraiser during their lunch periods, with the money going towards a Pines Buddy Bench that will be placed near the playground. A Buddy Bench is used in schools for children who feel lonely or want to sit out at recess and other children can join and include them. It can be seen as a safe place where students can foster friendships.
This Buddy Bench will be very special, as it will be dedicated to the memory of a former Pines student who was a member of this current fifth grade class. The idea came from the fifth graders as a way to honor their friend.
