Engineering Teaching Lab at Stony Brook University
Mr. Giachetti's sixth grade science class participated in the Engineering Teaching Lab at Stony Brook University. Student created a home security alarm system by soldering resistors, capacitors, timers, a bell and a laser onto an integrated circuit. Students worked with graduate students and a professor from the College of Engineering. Besides learning how to work with the tools in the laboratory, students also had the experience of walking on the campus of Stony Brook University and eating in the Student Activity Center. It was a great experience for the students! They literarily had a taste of what college is like!
