Hauppauge Students are Winners at National and NYS Film Competitions
Hauppauge School District is pleased to announce that Student Filmmakers Nadia Truglio, Brittany Lewis, Allison McIntyre, Katie Parrett, Katie Murphy and Madison Piazza from Teacher Dave Schaeffler’s IB Film class has a highly successful showing of their film, B-02432, at the June 12, 2016 National Finals of the 10 Day Film Challenge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. More than 450 films from 140 high schools in 24 states competed in the 2016 Competition. The Hauppauge Students’ film B-02432 was the Winner for: Best Opening Titles and Best Line, and was a Nominee for: Best Actress, Character and Genre.
B-02432 also enjoyed a highly successful showing at the New York State 10-Day Film Challenge, which was held last month in New York City. The filmmakers not only got to see their film shown at the UA Kaufman- Astoria Theatre in Queens, but they also received the 3rd place award for Best Film in New York State as well as Best Use of Line and Best Opening Titles.
