Teachers

The New York State Education Department specifies the certification required by teachers.  It is incumbent upon each teacher to keep their certification current and to ensure that they are meeting the requirements for professional development.  The links on this page will provide you with information from NYSED regarding certification and professional development.

Substitute teaching is a good way for teachers to get experience while looking for full time employment.  If you are interested, please see the attached link, fill out the application and return it to the Personnel Office.

Teaching Assistants

Teaching assistants must be certified teachers or certified teaching assistant from New York State Department of Education.

Anyone interested in becoming a teaching assistant must possess a valid teacher and/or teaching assistant certification.
