COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT FOR SENIORS:  ALL VOLUNTEER HOURS MUST BE DURING THE TIME THE STUDENT IS ENROLLED IN THE COURSE.  SUMMER HOURS DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS THIS REQUIREMENT. 

Please see your teachers for opportunities and project requirements.  

 Requirements:

For students enrolled in Participation in Government and Economics 10 hours of community service is required for each course (total of 20 hours) • For students enrolled in AP Government and Politics, AP Economics (12 grade), and non Diploma IB History or IB Global Politics 20 hours of community service is required

• Community Service Log/ letter(s) on non-profit companies letterhead

• Project 

• Written Reflection

Approved Community Service Hours: The Community Service hours may be taken from a variety of activities that are offered in and out of school. Students who are involved in clubs and activities that require community service such as: honor societies, Interact etc. must acquire additional hours to complete this project.

Community Service Log: A completed departmental community service log with letters on letterhead must be submitted to your teacher on the project due date.

Students must take pictures of themselves performing the community service.

Projects: • Journal • Photo Journal • Photo Story • PowerPoint • Brochure • Exhibit Board • Documentary (10 minutes maximum)

Hauppauge School District Adapted Aquatics at Hauppauge HS pool Monday evenings 7-8:15 hopefully beginning Jan 24, 2022 (check with your teacher)
